Signs Your Dome Needs To Be Repaired

If your dome is older than 12-15 years old and has not been maintained, chances are it is time for you to find a restoration option, or if nothing else you should schedule some maintenance.
Here are signs that your dome needs immediate repairing:
- The first sign of airform deterioration is that the outside of the dome is chalky. (Note that it is common for debris such as dirt or grime from the environment to be on the fabric, which does not necessarily represent damage.)
- There are pockmarks, flakes, peels, tears, or holes on the airform.
- The polyurethane foam layer is exposed.
- There are leaks and drips on the inside of the dome. If you see any of these signs, contact DRS immediately to discuss repair options. If your dome is older (10+ years) and you do not see any of these signs yet, you may still want to schedule your maintenance now before you develop problems.
As we have said before, with domes it is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when.

Without maintenance, harmful UV breaks down the outer layer of a dome starting at approximately 10-12 years. Should you have domes that are approaching this age (or even older!) then we urge you to schedule a maintenance before severe problems arise
